STANLEY, NC – This Saturday night August 29th will be BRAKES (Be Responsible and Keep Everyone Safe) night at East Lincoln Speedway. BRAKES and Doug Herbert Performance will be giving away free t-shirts to all race fans that purchase general admission tickets, as well as shooting special BRAKES/Doug Herbert Racing t-shirts into the grandstands with their t-shirt cannon. The 300 mph Top Fuel Dragster driven by Doug Herbert will also be on site.
“BRAKES is a great organization and brings awareness to young adults about being safe behind the wheel.” said East Lincoln Speedway’s Clint Elkins. “We are honored and grateful that we have the opportunity to support such a worthy cause and hopefully we can assist BRAKES in carrying out their mission statement, to keep kids safe.”
ESPN’s D.J. Cobb will have his NASCAR Sprint Cup pit simulator car on hand as well. Race fans will have to opportunity to race one another during timed pit stops. The winner will receive an Ingersoll-Rand give pack. All proceeds will benefit BRAKES.
Also on the card for Saturday night August 29th will be a full racing program. The Legends Cars will take center stage with a special qualifying race for the upcoming Legends Dirt Nationals in October. The winner of the Legends race on Saturday night will receive an automatic starting spot in the Finals. The Steele Rubber Products Limited Sportsman, Advance Auto Parts Stock Four, Bea’s Gift Basket Rookie Four, Micro Sprits and CV Products Renegades will also be in action. The CV Product Renegades will race for a raised purse of $200to win.
