STANLEY, NC – East Lincoln Speedway is set to host the 5th Annual Dave Watts Memorial presented by TJ’s Motorsports Warehouse this Saturday night September 5th. The Labor Day weekend special will offer a $1,000 first place prize to the winner of the Steele Rubber Products Limited Sportsman main event.
Dave Watts’ Dave’s Auto Salvage appeared on many race cars during the 1990’s and early 2000’s. He was a fixture at East Lincoln Speedway and helped many racers live their dream of racing stock cars.
“We are very proud to honor Dave Watts with this special memorial race,” said East Lincoln Speedway’s Clint Elkins. “Dave was obviously a very generous man who loved short track racing.”
Charlotte’s Ronnie White leads the point standings going into the event and has been to victory lane nine times in 2009, while Concord’s Terry Brooks Jr, has made the most of his recent trips to ELS. He has dominated the last two main events and will be looking to pocket the big money this weekend.
Also on the card for Saturday night will be the Open Wheel Modifieds, Advance Auto Parts Stock Four’s, Bea’s Gift Basket Rookie Four’s, Micro Sprints and CV Products Renegades. General admission is just $10. Gates open at 5:00 with racing at 7:30. For more information please visit www.elspeedway.com
