STANLEY, NC – When it was announced that East Lincoln Speedway would host the Legends Dirt Nationals several drivers circled it on their calendar.

                One in particular was 18 year old Matthew Stover. Stover, from nearby Gastonia certainly knows his way round East Lincoln Speedway. He has already visited victory lane four times in 2009 at the 3/8 mile oval.

                With over 100 drivers from all over the country expected to do battle at the Lincoln County facility this weekend October 16-17 Stover knows he has his work cut out for him.

                “There are some really good drivers coming in,” said the 2008 Forestview High School graduate. “We are really looking forward to seeing how we stack up against the best in the nation. We are going to have a little advantage early on but the caliber of drivers coming in will figure out the track very fast.”

                Stover has captured ten victories so far in 2009 and will definitely be one of the favorites on hand in the Pro Division. “We have been working real hard to make sure we are ready for this event,” added Stover.
