Where are you from? Background? I was born and raised, in a poor neighborhood in North Charlotte and moved to Iron Station 20 + years ago.
How did you get started in racing? I had a tragedy in my family and I needed something with out any memorys. I started racing 5 years ago with the help of a lot of people including Sponser Lisa Roark ( my wife ), Encourager /Advisor- Ronnie Ward, Engine Man-Tug Truitt, Advisor -Jamie Majors and Utility Man -Anthony Ritter.
What kind of work do you do? I work for U.S Foodservice in the freezer dept.
Hometown now? Iron Station N.C
Accomplishments? I am a Christian and I wanted to use the dirt track to witness for the love of Jesus. My second year racing the track manager asked me one night to pray at the drivers meeting for a family that had loss a family member and then he asked me to pray Every SATURDAY night for 3 years. Being able to pray with the other drivers was awesome except sometimes I was more nervous about praying then I was about driving.
My second biggest accomplishment is winning 3 races in Rookie Four in my 3rd year of racing.
My third biggest is not missing 1 race in 5 years. Thanks to God, my wife and the above mentioned people. I totaled a car one Saturday night and my crew and I built another car by the next Saturday.
Favorite off season thing to do? Spend time with wife and working in my church for now that is about it.
Favorite food? Pizza and Skip's hot dogs.
Favorite sports team? New York Yankees.
Favorite music? Gospel/Christan Stephen Curtis Chapman and Kirk Franklin I also enjoy Kellie Pickler (a lot)
Future racing plans? They are year to year. I really enjoy the competiton and the fellowship but when God says it is time to move on I will be ready.
I then plan to work on the wrecker crew every Saturday night.
