East Lincoln Speedway kicked off the 2010 season with a huge crowd in the grandstand and close to 80 cars in the pit area.
Kyle Strickler of Mooresville brought home the win in the 20 lap Open Wheel Modified main event. Young, up-and-coming racer Nick Stroupe finished in second and 2009 champion Danny Bohn drove from the back of the field to finish third. Rich Reakes and Derrick Ramey rounded out the top five.
The Limited Sportsman win went to Chris Smith, who held of a hard charging Ronnie White coming to the finish line. Chris Stowe finished in third place with Keith Bowman fourth and Michael Benfield fifth.
Terri Peters ran away with the Micro Sprint feature event. He was followed to the line by Rick Goss, Frank Peters, Brian Roseman and Darren Hasty.
Jamie Major captured the Renegade win, with Steve Newsome in second, Mark Woody in third, Anthony Cable in fourth and Tracy Tapley in fifth.
The Super Stock Four winner was Brian Nuhfer. Tony Palladino held down the second spot with Jennings Herman, Randy Powell and Gary (pechi) Fioramanti taking the remaining spots in the top five.
Lee Oiler starting his 2010 campaign in style by beating A. J. Paladino to the checkered flag in the Stock Four main. Second place finisher Paliadino was followed by Dylan O'Daniel in third, Logan Sparks in fourth and Alex Depietro in fifth.
The next event at East Lincoln Speedway will be Saturday, April 10. In addition to the full racing program, the Legends Cars will also be on-hand to do battle on the Stanley, NC red clay.
Pit gates open at 4:00PM, grandstand gates open at 5:00PM and racing will begin at 7:15PM.
